Riding Program

Forward Stride’s Riding Program offers children and adults of all abilities the opportunity to develop horsemanship skills, fitness, and self-confidence. In a safety-first environment, participants connect horsemanship skills with valuable life skills. Our adaptive program includes classes in basic riding, dressage, western riding, trail obstacles, and drill team.

Lesson Costs

We offer a variety of riding classes to serve our community. Classes are available on a weekly or every other week schedule.

The program runs year-round in four quarters—Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall—with each quarter averaging 10–13 weeks. Tuition is billed in advance at the start of each quarter.

We require a one-time Riding Evaluation before enrollment into our Riding Program.

Lesson Type Cost
Riding Evaluation (60 minutes, private) $60
Group Lesson (45 minutes, 3-4 people) $57.5
Fundamental Lesson (25 minutes, private) $68
Semi-Private Lesson (45 minutes, 2 people) $68
Private Lesson (45 minutes, private) $95

Our Inclusive Model

Did you know that one out of every five adults has a disability in the United States? Many of these individuals live their lives without ever being diagnosed. By offering inclusive services that do not require a diagnosis, we are able to help more people learn, grow, and heal.

Groundwork and Horsemanship Program

Ready to start your experience with horses, without riding? Our Groundwork and Horsemanship program offers a fantastic introduction to horses—all from the ground!

Participants will learn essential horse safety, grooming techniques, leading skills, and day-to-day care. Beyond these practical skills, interacting with horses offers valuable opportunities for personal growth, including improved communication, self-regulation, confidence building, and an enhanced understanding of body language.

My time in the Riding Program has taught me much more than just how to operate the likes of a thousand-pound animal. It has taught me how to show up for myself, how to make my own decisions, and how to respect the different decisions of those that I’m working with.
