Meet the Equines

Forward Stride’s horses are specially chosen and tested for appropriateness for the work that we do before they are brought into our organization. Each one goes through extensive training before they serve in our Equestrian Sports and Clinical Services programs. The work that therapy horses do is rigorous and requires a special temperament and work ethic. We are extremely lucky to have such a diverse herd of kind, steady equines ready to serve our community.

Happy and healthy horses and donkeys are key to our success and that of our participants. The annual cost of feed, shavings, horse shoes, veterinary care, and training for horses adds up quickly. If you are interested in being an integral part of the success of our herd, you can sponsor a horse or donkey! Our equines will thank you!

If you have a horse you think would fit well in one of our programs please fill out our horse donation form.

Special thanks to all the veterinarians and health professionals who contribute their services to keep our horses healthy:
